Myself and the rest of the Funnymentalists had an AMAZING time in North Carolina over the weekend.
The crowds were amazing and I had a blast challenging my friends from the group Noor in air hockey.
But the best thing to come out of the weekend was the taping of our first podcast!
Ever wonder what its like to hang out with artists after a show at a Waffle House or a Denny’s? Well this show inshallah will have that exact same vibe. Its a bunch of guys sitting around shooting the breeze, talking about happenings in the Muslim community and everything else in between.
Each week, we will bring in our artist friends including the Sound of Reason, Native Deen, Kareem Salama, Dawud Wharnsby and a countless list of others to join in on the conversations.
Of course we’ll be cracking nonstop jokes but what you wont be getting are rehearsed bits. Consider this a raw conversation, where you guys are sitting in the same room with us.
In this episode, we cover a range of important topics - but you’ll also learn about Asif’s ignorance of grapeleaves, my fascination with building masjids with waterslides and Baba Ali’s former job as a Chinese delivery boy.

Throw it in your mp3 player and listen to it while you’re exercising or driving in your car. Alhamdulillah the feedback so far has been great, and I hope you guys enjoy this project too.
I had a great weekend in Ohio performing with one of my favorite comedians of all time, Dave Chappelle. He made a surprise appearance at a show I was doing with my friends a part of the Allah Made Me Funny tour.
Anyway, I posted some new videos from a show I did in Toronto a while back, enjoy!
All sorts of crazy changes have been happening to me this past year, and this site tops everything off! Then again, if a new site is the highlight of my year, it probably doesn’t say a lot for my social life.
Earlier this year, I launched the comedy tour the Muslim Funnymentalists, and spent a bulk of my spring touring the country with fellow comedians Asif Ali and Baba Ali (no none of us are related). Definitely have a bunch in store for the tour down the road, so stay tuned for that.
This spring, I’ve been sticking with my roots as a reporter by writing a regular column called “The Jack of All Tirades” for Illume Magazine, so check that out too.
Most importantly, even though I’ve been taking it easy this summer and mainly doing shows around New York, I’ll be back on the road some more this fall. Oh, and expect to see more lame videos.
